AEROPONICS

Aeroponics is a particular hydroponic soilless cultivation technique, in which the root of the plant is free to grow in a closed environment in which a nutrient solution is sprayed with predetermined times: the root system is wet and maintained constantly wet, the excess nutrient solution is recovered, disinfected, analyzed, reintegrated with water and nutrients and returned to the circulation. In addition to a considerable saving of water (85% compared to cultivation on the ground), the system prevents the release of polluting chemical elements into the soil and eliminates the substrates which at the end of the cycle become "special waste". The absence of soil and any other substrate reduces the problems of asphyxiation and the onset of pathologies related to the root system; compared to conventional technologies, the aeroponic system has significant advantages because contact with substrate pathogens (in particular Nematodes and basal rot and tracheomycosis agents) are removed.
